If your puppy or dog is pushing all of the boundaries or you simply don’t have the time to teach your pooch the importance of obedience and positive reinforcement, Harvey Dog Training’s positive, rewarding and affordable dog obedience classes in Brisbane are just the solution for you!
When it comes to teaching your puppy or dog obedience, it requires three important things: time, patience and positive reinforcement. At Harvey Dog Training, our affordable dog obedience classes in Brisbane are the perfect transition for those finishing puppy school and ready to progress to the next level of training.
What comes after puppy school?
Once your pet reaches 5 months of age, he or she is now ready to progress to the next level and is ready to develop important skills to learn how to live in harmony with you and your family. Your pooch is now an adolescent and is likely to push the boundaries you have set. He or she is also still teething which can be a challenging time for both your furry loved one and your family. Obedience Classes can give you the support you need to overcome this challenging time and to correct nasty habits with positive ones.
What happens at obedience classes?
The puppy and dog obedience course is a three week curriculum, which consists of hour long sessions once a week. Upon the completion of the course, we offer all dogs a free lifetime membership as we are just as invested in your pet as what you are.
During the obedience course, your puppy or dog will learn how to walk nicely on a loose lead beside you, sit, drop, sit and stay and of course the very important ‘come when called’. There will also be some socialisation exercises to ensure your dog is trained to interact positively around other dogs and people. It is important that your dog learns to pay attention to you when he or she is distracted by other people and dogs that they do not know. Most importantly you and your dog should have lots of fun building that unique bond that happens between human and dog.
